INFERNO was one of the projects in ENLIT Europe, from the 18th to 20th of November, in Bilbao, Spain. The project was part of the F6S Innovation Energy Efficiency synergy group showcasing their objectives, activities, and results. Together with i-STENTORE, WeForming, SNUG EU, TWAIN Project, DigiWind, Project EXIGENCE, 6G-PATH, HEDGE-IoT, HyLiST, HighMag-Project, STREAMS Project, 6G-LEADER, CLEANHYPRO, and Sea4Volt, at the EU Projects Zone of the event, ENLIT Europe 2025 was an amazing opportunity to engage with other funded projects and to know more about renewable and efficient energy initiatives.

INFERNO, represented by Robert Carroll, Business Developer of F6S, joined a key panel discussion at the event on November 19th, with METAWAVE Project, CAPTUS Project, H2GLASS, IS2H4C EU Project, SET-IndEU, COREu Project, and Siemens Energy, addressing the critical challenges facing Europe’s push towards carbon neutrality. The session, titled “Decarbonisation and Carbon Capture Technologies for Energy-Intensive Industries,” highlighted a consensus among panelists: the transition to decarbonisation is moving slower than anticipated. The participants identified several major, interlinked barriers, including the essential need for societal readiness for electrification, economic challenges, regulatory and standardisation gaps, the limited access to emerging technologies and difficulties in scaling them up, and the political fragmentation and lack of an unified strategy across Europe.
The participation of the INFERNO Project at this high-profile event reinforces its commitment to advancing innovative strategies needed to meet carbon-neutrality goals. The ensuing lively debate centered on how to scale these solutions effectively and strengthen cooperation across Europe’s vast industrial ecosystem, signaling a clear path forward for the collaborative projects.
